Alaska Wintertime Fun at Hatcher Pass Bed & Breakfast/Cabins Includes Cross-Country Skiing
Alaska wintertime fun at Hatcher Pass Bed and Breakfast/Cabins includes cross-country skiing at Government Peak Recreation Area – just two miles from your cabin. We have lots of snow and Archangel Road, and Independence Mine are also great for skiing. The Gold Mint Trail has been groomed this season and is good for skiing, snow machining and fat tire biking. Snow machining is now open for the season in Hatcher Pass.
Government Peak Recreation Area has lights! The lights automatically go on when it starts to get dark and turn off at 9 p.m. If you haven’t skied under the lights, you are missing a wonderful adventure. The first time I skied at night, I pulled into the parking lot and realized I was the only one there. Reality set in – me, my dog, my skies, and those moose…..I ventured forth and thankfully didn’t run into one moose. Instead I was treated to views of the lights and skyline of the Valley below, trees heavy laden with snow, and a dog and myself very happy to be out swooshing through the fresh snow!
