Be Prepared! weatherIconNo matter what the season, be aware of local weather forecasts while planning your trip to ensure that you have everything you need for a perfect visit! Remember weather conditions can change very quickly in the mountains of Alaska – bring extra food, water, and warm clothes in any season! When your day in the mountains is over make sure you have your Alaskan cabin at Hatcher Pass Bed and Breakfast reserved for a relaxing and wonderful experience in the Talkeetna Mountains just outside Wasilla and Palmer, Alaska.

The Independence Mine and Visitor Center is open for the summer season through Labor Day, 2017. The gate at the lower parking lot near Hatcher Pass Lodge will be open seven days a week from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. A $5 parking pass is needed to park in the Hatcher Pass area, and a $3 admission fee is charged to visit Independence Mine. The gate at Archangel Road is also open now. The gate over the top of Hatcher Pass to Summit Lake and on to Willow will be open the week of July 4th.
